How to
Export your map
Take a map into a slide, a spreadsheet or a content plan.
Formats
Use the Export button above the map to take it out of TopicLoops in one of three formats:
- Image (PNG) — a high-resolution picture of the sunburst, in the colours you have selected. For slides, briefs and reports.
- Data (CSV) — every subtopic as a row.
- Spreadsheet (XLSX) — the same rows as an Excel workbook, ready to become a content plan.
What is in the data exports
CSV and XLSX both carry four columns:
- Path— the subtopic's ancestors, joined with “>”, so you can rebuild the hierarchy anywhere.
- Label — the subtopic itself.
- Depth — which ring it sits in.
- Covered — Yes or No after a gap analysis, blank if you have not run one.
Which to pick
PNG always exports the sunburst, whichever tab you happen to have open — it is the view that reads as a single picture. CSV and XLSX contain the complete map, which makes them the right choice when you intend to sort, filter, or assign subtopics to writers.
