Tree

The same hierarchy unrolled left to right, where the labels are easiest to read.

What it shows

The Tree view unrolls the same hierarchy from left to right instead of around a circle. Each subtopic sits in a labelled pill connected to its parent, with depth running in one direction.

Why it reads better

On a circle, labels rotate with their segment and the outer rings get cramped. Laid out horizontally every label sits level and has room, so longer subtopic names stay legible and you can scan a whole level across at once.

Colours match the Sunburst exactly — each section keeps its colour — so switching between the two views costs you no orientation.

When to use it

Use the Tree when the subtopic names matter more than the overall shape: reading through a branch in detail, or comparing what sits at the same depth across different sections. Click any pill to research that subtopic as a new map.
