Find content gaps

What a gap analysis does

A map tells you what a subject contains. A gap analysis tells you how much of it one of your pages actually covers. You give TopicLoops a URL; it fetches that page, compares it against every subtopic on the map, and marks the ones the page meaningfully covers. A passing mention does not count as coverage — the page has to genuinely treat the subtopic. Everything left unmarked is a content gap.

Run one

1. Open a map and press Analyze URL above it.
2. Paste the full URL of the page you want to check — for example https://your-page.com/article.
3. Press Analyze coverage. It runs in three stages — Fetching page, Analyzing coverage, then Saving results — and the map updates when it finishes.

Read the result

The summary line above the map changes to “N content gaps · M already covered · T total”, with a chip showing which URL was analyzed. Covered subtopics are marked across every view; the Outline is usually the clearest place to work through what is left, since the uncovered entries read straight down as a to-do list.

Analyzing another page

Press Compare another URLto check a different page — another of your articles, or a competitor's page on the same subject. A map holds the coverage of one page at a time, so a new analysis replaces the previous marks rather than adding to them. Pages you have analyzed stay listed in the dialog so you can switch back between them, and Clear coverage removes the marks entirely.
